Types of High Hardness Wear-resistant Steel Plates

Types of High Hardness Wear-resistant Steel Plates

High hardness wear-resistant steel plates are collectively referred to as steel plates with high hardness. Generally, high hardness wear-resistant steel plates have characteristics of high hardness (strength), high low-temperature toughness, high wear resistance, and stability. The hardness of wear-resistant steel plates is generally identified using Brinell hardness (HB). So, what are the types of high hardness wear-resistant steel plates?

Usually, wear-resistant steel plates with a Brinell hardness higher than 500 are referred to as high hardness wear-resistant steel plates:

1. Domestic High Hardness Wear-resistant Steel Plates

NM500 steel plate is a domestic high hardness wear-resistant steel plate grade. NM500 steel plate is a high-strength wear-resistant steel plate, with moderately high mechanical strength. Its mechanical properties are 3 to 5 times that of general low-alloy steel plates, significantly improving the wear resistance of mechanical components and thus improving the service life of machinery and reducing production costs.

2. Japanese High Hardness Wear-resistant Steel Plates
JFE-EH500, JFE-EH550, etc., are high hardness wear-resistant steel plate grades produced by JFE Steel in Japan. The numbers 500 and 550 represent the Brinell hardness values. JFE Steel applies advanced technology to develop advanced wear-resistant steels with a surface Brinell hardness of 500, which were difficult to achieve in the past and require toughness guarantee even at -40°C (-40°F). They are particularly suitable for use in cold regions, withstand strong impacts, and require high toughness to ensure internal hardness.

3. German High Hardness Wear-resistant Steel Plates

DILLIDUR 500, DILLIDUR 550, and DILLIDUR IMPACT, etc., are high hardness wear-resistant steel plate grades produced by Dillinger in Germany. The DILLIDUR series wear-resistant steel plates can effectively reduce the weight of equipment designs and improve wear resistance. The excellent comprehensive performance of this material can ensure the realization of goals such as "high wear resistance, easy processing, material saving, and cost reduction."

4. Other High Hardness Wear-resistant Steel Plates

For example, Sweden's Hardox, Germany's XAR, etc., are also high-quality wear-resistant steel plates.

High hardness wear-resistant steel plates are widely used in mines, construction machinery, and engineering machinery, such as cement pusher plate, concrete mixer lining plate, excavator bucket plate, and metal shredder blade.

The surface hardness of high hardness wear-resistant steel plates generally reaches 480~560 HB, so there are higher requirements for processing technology and techniques. We have been committed to the research, processing, manufacturing, and application of high-strength wear-resistant steel plates. Relying on modern workshops and processing, testing equipment, and special manufacturing processes and technologies, we design, process, and produce various complex, high-quality, and cost-effective wear-resistant parts for customers.
