Spring steel C67S cold-rolled steel strip shipped to Thailand amidst urgent packing and sea freight
With the lead seals on the containers secured, we've successfully completed another export order. In our history of exports, we've never experienced such urgency to meet the shipping deadline. However, this achievement was made possible through the dedicated efforts of all departments in our company, working overtime to produce and pack the goods within an extremely tight timeframe to fulfill our customer's requirements.
Our interaction with this particular customer began over a month ago, initially involving discussions regarding quotations and other related matters. The customer's request for C67S steel strips in 0.5mm and 0.9mm thicknesses was well understood from the outset. The specific product they required, as shown in the attached image, appears to be keychains, involving processes such as punching, bending, and slight stretching.
Prior to this, we had engaged in discussions with the customer and conducted an analysis of the samples they had previously sent us. We noticed occasional issues such as slight bending and cracking in the C67S cold-rolled steel strips used by the customer. Through compositional testing and failure analysis, we discovered that the materials supplied by the previous supplier suffered from poor steel purity, indicating they might have originated from smaller, less reputable steel mills domestically or were substandard products from larger steel mills. Consequently, the material did not undergo significant improvement in its structure through cold rolling and annealing processes, resulting in inferior tensile properties in localized areas.
In subsequent discussions, as a manufacturer of C67S cold-rolled steel strips, we assured the customer that the materials we provided were sourced from reputable first-tier steel mills such as Baosteel and Meisteel, or from Nansteel, ensuring high steel purity and uniform structure. Through multiple cold rolling processes and annealing tailored to C67S, we were able to enhance the performance of the cold-rolled steel strips, reducing hardness accordingly.
After a month of intensive communication and testing, the customer eventually placed their first order with us. Despite their expectation of a price drop for C67S steel due to recent market fluctuations, we encountered no such decrease. As a result, the customer requested to shorten the delivery time from 35 days to 25 days. To address this challenge, we adjusted our production schedule and rearranged the use of furnaces, allowing us to expedite the production of C67S cold-rolled steel strips to meet the shortened deadline. Today, amidst a gentle rain, our colleagues remained steadfast at the worksite, awaiting the final sealing of the containers.
